All Rural Development and Social Construction Society (ARUDECS) is a Society registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act vide Registration No. 123/99. The Society is governed by a seven-member Executive Committee drawn from experienced social workers with long years of experience in development work
Mr. Kannan is a graduate in Sociology and he worked with Madurai Multipurpose Social Service Society (MMSSS) as its District Coordinator in Theni District for more than two decades. He was instrumental in designing and implementing various development programmes for the upliftment of Dalit community through livelihood development, health, education, savings and credit services for women, ensuring entitlement to government schemes, promoting community organisations and leadership development, redeeming bonded labourers, enrolling unorganized labourers, women farmers, construction labourers in the respective welfare boards. He founded SWEET Trust in 2015 to continue his development work for the marginalised communities. Since 2017, he has been serving ARUDECS as its President and he is actively supporting it to design and implement tribal development programmes.
Mr. Raja is a Graduate in Social Work. He founded ARUDECS in 1999 to work for the cause of tribal communities. He began his career in development work from PEAL, Madurai as its District Coordinator for the programmes like organic farming, climate change for three years. He also worked with Ekta Parishad as its Tamil Nadu State Tribal Programme Coordinator for five years and worked for the rights of tribal community, forest rights act (2006), child education, lobbying and advocacy with Tribal welfare department, forest department and district administration to get their entitlements from the Government. He has been continuously working for the development and empowerment of socially and economically marginalised schedule tribes in Theni District of Tamil Nadu. He is a founding member of Collective Action for Forest Adivasi’s (CAFAT) and actively involved in various tribal development movements within and outside Tamil Nadu.
Mr. Chandrasekar is a Diploma holder and specialised in professional photography. He is an enthusiast of natural farming and practicing organic farming in Bodinayakanur of Theni District. His social concern and strong desire for development work brought him closer to ARUDECS. He serves the Board of ARUDECS as its Treasurer since 2015. He is also involved in grooming youth from nearby villages in professional photography. He volunteers in many of the tribal development initiatives of ARUDECS and extends his support and guidance.
Mr. Subramania Siva, a son of Freedom Fighter A.V Sivaramaswami, is a retired officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He is a graduate in Chemistry and Post Graduate in Social Work. As a State Convener and Secretary of Tribal People's Fellowship for Livelihood Resources (TPFLR), he strives for getting land rights to the hill tribes living in Tamil Nadu and also improving their living conditions through sustainable agricultural practices. He is also a Managing Trustee of Service Initiative for Voluntary Action (SIVA) Trust, Tirunelveli, which is involved in various development programmes for the socially and economically deprived communities. He is also a Trustee of Children of India Foundation, which works on issues related to child protection, health, livelihoods and education.
Mrs. Maheswari is a development worker, striving for the upliftment of socially and economically disadvantaged communities since 1999. She worked with AWARD Trust for more than decade for empowering rural women in Theni District. In 2010, she founded RDSS Trust and is currently serving as Director of the organisation. She has developed and implemented various welfare programmes for the betterment of rural women through Self-Help Groups. From 2015, she has been serving ARUDECS as its Board Member and extending support and guidance to implement tribal development programmes for the benefit of tribal community.
Mr. Krishnamurthi is a Graduate in Agriculture and Post Graduate in Psychology. For two decades he worked with DHAN Foundation as Programme Leader of its Communication Programme, involved in promoting communication as a tool for enhancing field action and facilitating policy advocacy in the themes of water, financial literacy, agriculture, livelihoods and women empowerment. He has written and produced a number of reports and publications, directed several audio-visual productions, established community radio stations for women and farming community. He travelled many countries to further the community radio movement and contributed for its growth. He is currently heading Kalasam Livelihood Academy of CCD, Madurai as its Programme Director.
Mr. Adhinarayanan is a graduate in Agriculture and Post Graduate in Environmental Science. He started his career as Agronomist with M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation. Subsequently, he worked with DHAN Foundation as a Programme Leader for more than 20 years and coordinated the water conservation programme at the regional and state level. He was instrumental in designing tank-based watershed development programme for Andhra Pradesh Government during his leadership. He anchored the climate change adaptation theme of DHAN Foundation and led the Agricultural Bio-diversity Community, an international network. He also served in PRADAN as Project Leader to implement community based tank restoration programme in Tamil Nadu.
